Holland Professional Driver Herschel Evans placed first in the 5-axle class competition at the 2011 National Truck Driving Championships [08.16.2011]

Holland is proud to announce that Herschel Evans, a professional driver from Georgia, placed first in the 5-axle class competition at the 2011 National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) from Aug. 9–-13 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Evans has been in the transportation industry for 23 years and with Holland for the past 17 years. Evans was named the 2006 Georgia State 5-Axle Champion and Grand Champion, as well as the 2008 State 5-Axle Champion.

“We are extremely proud of our professional drivers that competed at the National Truck Driving Championships,” said Jeff Rogers, Holland president. “Their passion and motivation to compete is a display of their outstanding driving skills, professionalism and commitment to safety.”

To compete at the national competition, drivers must be accident-free for the 12 months leading up to the event and place first in their state-level driving championships.

“There are 3 million truck drivers in the United States,” said Evans. “I met some of the best of the best in this competition.  To finish at the top of my division with so many great competitors is a real honor.”
