What's New at Reddaway
Improving our position in Portland
In mid-October, our Portland service center will move from its Clackamas location to a larger, more centrally-located facility in north Portland. With more capacity and easier access to primary traffic arteries, we will be better able to serve our customers in the greater Portland area.
Our new address will be:
10510 North Vancouver Way
Portland, OR 97217
While our operations will move, the staff that brings you great service will remain intact and will be at the new service center. You can be confident you'll continue to receive the best value in on-time and damage-free transportation services.
For questions regarding our move, please contact our Area Sales Director Brad Stewar, at 503-557-6219 or Service Center Manager Marty Hope at 503-557-6202 or your local account manager.

Industry Information
National Truck Driving Championships
Through a demonstration of professionalism and a commitment to safety, 57 YRC Worldwide drivers won their state competitions and the right to compete at the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships. Four Reddaway drivers joined the YRCW team at this year's August event in Pittsburgh. Out of approximately 400 competitors, two YRCW drivers captured top awards, including third place in the Twin Trailers Class and 5-Axle classes.

August U.S. manufacturing exceeds expectations
For the first time in 19 months, factories in the U.S. expanded production, according to the Institute for Supply Management. The group's factory gauge uses 50 as the dividing line between expansion and contraction. ISM reported August at 52.9, exceeding forecasts and the highest level since June 2007. They attribute the gains to the Federal Reserve efforts to thaw credit markets, the "cash for clunkers" program, and tax credits for first-time homebuyers.
Truck tonnage up for July
The American Trucking Associations' advance seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index increased 2.1 percent in July. In June, SA tonnage fell 2.4 percent. July's gain, which raised the SA index to 101.9 (2000=100), wasn't large enough to completely offset the reduction in the previous month. "While I am optimistic that the worst is behind us, I just don't see anything on the economic horizon that suggests freight tonnage is about to rise significantly or consistently," said ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello. "Still, even small gains are better than the February 2008 through April 2009 cumulative tonnage reduction of 15.5 percent."

Tips to Make Your
Life Easier
You're
supporting environmental sustainability when you ship with Reddaway
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently
awarded the highest ranking in its SmartWay™
voluntary emission program to YRC Worldwide, our parent company. This
is the fifth
consecutive year we've received this honor since the EPA launched the
program in 2004 to address the environmental and economic challenges
surrounding growth in the freight industry.
To be eligible, we
had to submit to the EPA an annual fleet model profile that takes into
consideration our emission reduction strategies. We are pleased that our
efforts have again earned such high marks in the SmartWay Partnership
recognition. For more information on our efforts in environmental
sustainability visit Destination Green.

Case
Study: Delivering confidence to cleaning supply customer
While
this Portland customer may provide commercial-grade cleaning products to hotels,
restaurants and industries, they sell themselves on service. That's where
Reddaway comes in.
It begins with
meeting the customer's delivery expectations. Even when given tough
delivery requirements, we try to never let the customer down.
Communication
strengthens the partnership. A dedicated customer service representative
provides twice-daily delivery reports and proactively notifies the customer
if a delivery issue comes up.
Personal
accountability solidifies the partnership. We know our drivers are an
extension of our customer whenever we make a delivery. That's why a smile
and a little extra effort mean so much.
Through the years,
our work with this customer evolved from a business relationship to a great
partnership. Today, Reddaway delivers confidence with each of the
1,000-plus outbound shipments the customer entrusts to our care each month.
To see the
difference service, communication and accountability can make in your
supply chain; contact your local account manager today.
